2014-2015's First Week of Junior K

Dr. Lavallee showed everyone what to expect during a doctor's visit,
she even gave out shots and stickers!  Then everyone got to be a
doctor or patient too.

Wow, what a fabulous new group of kiddies!  Parents, you should be very proud of your little ones, as they were so independent, polite, and sweet this first week of Junior Kindergarten.  It was super watching them quickly become friends, and a pleasure getting to know their individual personalities.

This week our classes were introduced to the programs's routine, they discussed the inner workings of Junior K and Penson, and got to know the names and whereabouts of our classroom Centers. Ask your little one about them.  Which did they like best?  Which haven't they yet visited?





Our Centers...

This is our Art Center, where children can draw, color, paste,
cut, trace, stamp, use stickers, or paint with Bingo dabbers.

Each month our centers change to suit our month's topic and simply to keep busy minds from growing bored. This month, being our first inside Penson, our centers compliment learning both independently and through cooperation, all with a classroom theme.

Have you heard the big news!?

There's big news afoot... Have you heard?
Our program is no longer titled Grovedale Preschool!  Taken under Peace Wapiti's wing, this Early Childhood program is now called Junior Kindergarten.  We are officially no longer private, but part of School District 76!


What does this mean to you?  It means this program no longer requires monthly fees for Registration.  All that's required is payment of the standard Penson School fee (see the office for details), and your child's participation in a simple assessment titled 48 month Ages and Stages.  If you missed Mrs. Lavallee's scheduled evaluation days, no worries.  Just email her at jmlavarnt@gmail.com or jessicabuffitt@pwsd76.ab.ca to request your copy.  You can then go through Ages and Stages with your child at home, and hand the results in on this year's first day of classes; September 8th.

Though our name has changed, our great program has not, so please take a look around and see what fun your little one has to look forward to!

I'm very much looking forward to getting to know your child!  We'll have lots of fun this 2014-2015 school year!
