January

The trees shine like crystals, the snow sparkles beneath our feet, January is a cold month but Jack Frost's artwork can't be beat!  This month we look past the discomfort of cold to see the beauty of its science.  What is ice, what makes it, and how does it disappear?  Here's another question; besides seeing snow, what else might tell us winter has arrived?  While studying cold's fun, our Preschoolers also discover what makes them unique.

Word of the Month:  Unique
Letters:  K, W, Z  /  Shape:  Oval  /  Color:  Blue  /  Number: 10

  • Winter Wonderland
    • Ice is Nice (Experimenting with making ice and ice painting)
    • How we know it’s winter (sun takes longer naps, trees are bare, water freezes, animals have thicker coats, some birds have gone south, bears have gone to sleep)

  • I’m like a Snowflake, special in my own way!
    • I am proud to be unique
